REVITALISATION AT EUROPAPLATZ Mönchengladbach New shine for Mönchengladbach's city centre

A new, lively city entrance at the main railway station: This will be the "Quartier am Europaplatz" in Mönchengladbach. On the approximately 6,847 m² site of the vacant building complex "Haus Westland", an urban quarter is being created that will appeal to young and old, visitors and locals, passers-by and residents alike. A new piece of urbanity is being created here for Mönchengladbach's city centre.
Thanks to its perfect bus and train connections and its proximity to the street Hindenburgstraße, the shopping centre "Minto" and the charming Wilhelminian-style residential area, the quarter offers ideal conditions for modern, lively city life. This urban reorganisation is one of the most significant developments in Mönchengladbach.

The new barrier-free central bus station, together with the quarter "Quartier am Europaplatz", will become the city's calling card as a forward-looking mobility hub. An urbanistic feasibility study by REALACE GmbH shows that there is space for around 27,700 m² of gross floor area spread over two buildings. The utilisation concept comprises a balanced mix of housing, local amenities, hotel and neighbourhood businesses, all embedded in attractively designed outdoor facilities.
With our expertise in the development of quarters, we not only create new space, but also breathe new life into the area around the station and Mönchengladbach's city centre. Sustainable concepts create lasting value and enhance the urban environment with long-lasting effect.
